The Evolution of Sourcing and the e-Sourcing Model

Forty years ago the USA and several other Western countries had strong textiles manufacturing centers and sourcing overseas was still somewhat of an exotic and complex route of trying to piece together a string of events over huge distances without the luxury of faxes, email, and chat. If for example you were based in a place like the USA, Italy, or Spain you had a solid “in-country” or “near-country” ability to handle your manufacturing needs and didn’t really have to travel too far to manufacture textiles and apparel.
