YORK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: BONT) celebrates the opening of its new Carson’s store on November 9 at the Markland Mall in Kokomo, Indiana. The store was previously located at the Kokomo Mall. The new one-level 60,000 square-foot Carson’s store has been renovated and redesigned to create a state-of-the-art shopping experience. The grand opening celebration will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. featuring special guest speaker, Greg Goodnight, Mayor of Kokomo, who will kick-off the festivities. The last day of business at the former Carson’s Kokomo Mall location will be Sunday, November 6.

The new store will provide a shopper-friendly environment with an open-floor plan, updated lighting with newest energy-saving technology, shopping carts and spacious fitting rooms, wide aisles and customer seating areas. Two self-serve kiosks will be located in the store with complete web access to www.carsons.com for customers to browse or shop online with complimentary standard shipping.

Carson’s will offer expanded merchandise in misses better sportswear, men’s sportswear, juniors, accessories, children’s and an expansive assortment in the new shoe salon. Brands include AGB, Wallflower Vintage Jeans, Nine West, Guess and Michael Kors Outerwear, Calvin Klein, Madden Girl and Fergie shoes, EMU boots and Kenneth Cole Jewelry, as well as exclusive brands which include the Company’s own Victor by Victor Alfaro, Laura Ashley and Ruff Hewn in missy apparel and John Bartlett Consensus and Statements and Ruff Hewn in men’s.

In addition to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the first 500 customers in the store will receive a complimentary gift. All cosmetics brands, including Estée Lauder, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden and Lancôme will offer complimentary make-overs and special gifts for the grand opening. Face painters will be on hand in the children’s department and shoppers can register to win one of three $500 shopping sprees during the celebration. On Saturday, November 19 at 1:00 pm, the local American Idol finalist Amanda Overmyer will appear for a special performance and sign autographs in the juniors department.
