Exhibition of the award-winning products at Texprocess The winners of the Texprocess Innovation Award will be announced and the awards presented during the Texprocess opening ceremony on Monday, 23 May. The jury met in April and evaluated 30 entries from 25 companies in nine countries. Eight of the products were selected for the Texprocess Innovation Award, which is given for outstanding engineering achievements and product developments of Texprocess exhibitors. The award-winning innovations are as follows: Xtreme-tech with Dyneema® cutEXPERT ecocam M-Type 867-190146 iSize Bügelformen PFAFF Powerline 3721 X-Feed VETRON The criteria for selection are that the product innovations must be really new, i.e., not have been on the market for more than two years, and offer users genuine advantages in that they improve processes, make handling easier, reduce material and manufacturing costs and increase productivity. Account is also taken of fundamental social aspects, e.g., whether the products contribute to greater sustainability and energy efficiency, and / or safety requirements, such as those in the automobile industry. The innovations can be seen in an exhibition in the foyer of Halls 5.1/6.1 throughout Texprocess. The international jury comprised five representatives of industry and the media: Robin Anson, Textiles Intelligence, Cheshire, UK Josef Klein, Hugo Boss, Metzingen, Germany Dr. Friedrich Rau, CarTrim GmbH, Plauen, Germany Iris Schlomski, Textile Network, Duderstadt, Germany Niki Tait, Apparel Solutions, Devon, UK Texprocess from 24 to 27 May is the new leading international trade fair for processing textiles and other flexible materials. There, international market leaders from all stages of the textile-processing and apparel manufacturing value chain present their innovations and high-tech solutions. The conceptual partner of Texprocess is VDMA Garment and Leather Technology. Texprocess is aimed primarily at the apparel-manufacturing industry, as well as processors of textiles in other fields, such as the automobile, aerospace, upholstery, leather, filter manufacturing, packaging and industrial safety sectors. Therefore, Texprocess is being held concurrently with Techtextil, International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens, from 24 to 26 May 2011. The Texprocess visitor target groups include the trade, artisans, service providers, scientists and teachers.
